Guys, this is what makes Edmund such a great character! You all know that!Įdmund repented, he was sorry for his crimes, and was forgiven. Anyway, I'm sorry it's kind of long, and I hope you don't take offence at this! I don't know how else to describe this to you. He himself realzed that he was a traitor. So how could that not be considered treachery? Maybe he was in denial, is that what you mean?Īs I have said above, I think Edmund knew what he was doing before "it was too late." And, yes, as he spent more "quality time" with the Witch, he figured out the others were right, he was wrong, and she is evil. He knew they didn't want him to go because they said she was evil. And even so, I'm sure Edmund knew he was betraying his siblings and the Beavers when he left their house to go to the White Witch. I don't want to be disrespectful to you or your Dad, and I appreciate and respect both your points, but it seems obvious to me that Edmund was a traitor. For goodness sakes, Edmund says, that HE HIMSELF was a traitor. (I don't want to be mean as I say this!) Have you read the books? Once again, it says that Edmund really knew that the Witch was evil, but he wanted the Turkish Delight anyway.
